Wanna write the song that makes the whole world sing?
Or at least the Credit Union world?

Here's your chance to become almost famous, show your fun side and possibly win a cool prize!

Put your creativity, wit, enthusiasm, humor or sarcasm to test by penning the lyrics to the next great Credit Union theme song or just have some fun with it. Imagine your CMBDC colleagues as your back-up singers and let the creative juices start flowing.

Here's some ideas to get you started:

Our 2008 CMBDC gathering in Nashville will be host for our first ever Credit Union Lyrics contest. Show your Credit Union pride and creativity while we're in Credit Union Country! Only one prize will be awarded per person and you must be present to win. All selections will be judged by a CMBDC panel of volunteers, using fair and consistent judging criteria.

> Judging Criteria

Here’s the lowdown

All entries must be emailed no later than February 15, 2008 to Deb Verdecchia at dverdecchia@cuna.com in Word format. Each entry must contain the following:

  • Your full name
  • Your credit union
  • The real title of the song you are using
  • The title and lyrics you have designed

You may submit as many entries as you'd like. At conference check-in you'll receive notification as to whether or not your “song” has been selected in the Top 10. At the Silent Auction event on Monday evening, we will ask you to “perform” your selection, or, you may elect to have one of our CMBDC volunteers do your dirty work for you. No promise we won't ruin your masterpiece. But, we understand that not all songwriters are performers (and vice-versa) … we will then elicit input from the audience in conjunction with our “crack” panel of experts. The formal winners will be announced at the brunch on Wednesday, March 19th.
