Member Spotlight: Bridgett Schulthies

Bridgett Schulthies is business development coordinator for Potelco United Credit Union in Idaho. She has been working with Potelco for six years—three years as a teller and the last three years in business development.

“I love the work this job allows me to do and feel that I have met the most amazing people,” she says. Bridgett has been married for 11 years to her “best friend” and has two children.

Recent challenge

Opening a new branch. My first one since becoming the business development coordinator.

Best advice

I believe as long as you are passionate about what you are doing, discipline somewhat comes naturally (okay, I am still working on the discipline part!)

Greatest benefit of Council membership

Having a great group of intelligent people that are within an e-mail's reach for ideas and resources and there is always someone willing to help. The new and fresh ideas. It is great to hear the different spins that can be put on old ideas.

Best part of my job

The people I meet and the community involvement. I love knowing that the work I do can make someone's life a little easier.

Hardest part of my job

Paperwork. I love getting out and meeting people, creating new products, services, events and promotions; however, creating spreadsheets on what I have done always seems to get pushed aside.

Recent success story

I came back from the CUNA Business Development and Marketing Conference in Las Vegas and was able to implement new services and commercials from ideas I had seen there. It was a great conference and I learned so much, but the true test is applying it when you return to work.

Hobbies and interests

Pilates and seeing the Dave Matthews Band in concert.

People are surprised to learn that I . . .

Have eight siblings.

Recent book

Marley & Me. A good book for dog lovers.

Life goal not yet achieved

To make a difference. I believe I am well on my way.

If I had an extra hour in the day . . .

I would sleep! Being a superhero is exhausting!
