Letter from the Chair
Last week while driving to work, the morning talk show I frequent was discussing Identity Theft. One of the hosts had had her credit card number compromised and was discussing this with her co-host. They requested calls on the subject and were barraged by more calls than they could take. This show how prevalent this problem is in just one city in the country. As educators of our membership, should we not take this on as a topic in 2005? Factual, concise information directly from the source they trust most - their credit union - would be extremely valuable for our members. I intend to add this to my education plan for the year and would hope that many others would as well. As the show came to a close, I was glad to hear the talk show host praise her Credit Union for handling her situation quickly and professionally. Our members really do appreciate information and knowing how to deal with a potentially bad situation should they fall victim of such a crime.
