Call for Executive Committee Nominations - CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council

The CMBDC executive committee is pleased to announce the Council's call for nominations for seats on the executive committee. During this election, three seats will be elected to three-year terms.

Candidates for the executive committee must be:

• CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council members in good standing;
• Credit union employees with marketing or business development as a primary responsibility;
• Willing and able to serve a three-year term;
• Willing and able to attend meetings and fulfill the duties and responsibilities of an executive committee member.

Duties include attendance at up to two planning meetings per year and monthly conference calls, as well as the ability to spend at least 50 hours per year on Marketing and Business Development Council work. Full Executive Committee position descriptions will be provided to all candidates submitting the required materials.

Candidates interested in serving must e-mail a letter of interest along with their resume and a 100-word campaign statement to Nominating Committee Chair, Carol Payne at cpayne@ccul.org no later than December 29, 2008. Questions can be directed to Carol at 909/581-3237.

The nominating committee will then evaluate all interested parties and present recommended candidates to the membership for democratic election. The committee will take care to present a slate of candidates that exceeds the number of vacancies and is as geographically and professionally balanced as possible.

Nominating committee members will review and interview individuals to determine that they: have a demonstrated understanding of credit union marketing and/or business development functions, are representative of CMBDC members and their professional interests, and have contributed to the credit union movement outside of their responsibility to their employing credit union.

The election will be conducted online beginning January 5, 2009. The new executive committee members will take his/her seat at the conclusion of the 16th Annual CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council Conference, March 11 – 14, 2009, at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel in San Diego, CA.
