Free & Compliant Privacy Statement Issued
The regulatory relief act of 2006 directed financial regulators to develop a model privacy disclosure. Last month NCUA issued their version of a compliance guaranteed privacy disclosure. The goal of this disclosure is to provide credit unions (and their members) with a standardized, easily understood privacy disclosure. You can view the form online here. To save yourself a TON of time, the model notices start on page 69. Credit unions get a bit of time to implement the new privacy disclosure because NCUA is allowing one full year for compliance. If you have any questions or need a copy of the final rule, please feel free to contact Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel Mary Dunn at mdunn@cuna.com or Senior Assistant General Counsel Jeff Bloch at jbloch@cuna.com or by telephone at (800) 356-9655, extension 6736 or 6732.
