Member Spotlight: Carol Payne

Carol Payne is the VP of Communications & Marketing at the California Credit Union League. She has worked for telephone trade associations, RCA communications, news rooms, news publications, uh hum,…banks, but found a home in credit unions, an industry with a conscious. She enjoys working with a talented, dedicated, professional, group of special individuals at the California and Nevada Leagues.

She found her six years serving as the League Representative on the CUNA Councils Executive Committee fun and exciting. Carol helped provide innovative strategy and insights to help fellow marketers and business development professionals throughout the U.S. She loved being part of a team that accomplished very hard fought goals, and consistently strived for (not perfection) exceptional excellence! Carol loves her family, music, plants and flowers and knows that it is better to give than to receive, and that there is only one “capital,” FATHER.

How I would explain the credit union difference to a prospective new member

Credit unions are not for profit financial institutions that focus on making a difference in consumer’s lives. We have "never" changed our commitment to our members, we don't vacillate back and forth-for profit or for members, its always the same answer...for members! Credit Unions For People. Not Profit. Don’t believe it ask any credit union to produce their philosophical background.
